Chris did a fantastic job of putting together the different arms of the Apostate Church that is the heart and soul of the last church age, the church of Laodicia.
Rev 3:14 "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Now, Apostates are neither hot nor cold and actually have taken the scriptures and have twisted and turned them to suit their own personal gains.
This is the age we are now in and these are the people you should be very wary of.
Emergent:
Non believers in essential doctrines.

Emerging:
Focused of Kingdom building, missional relational, etc.

Church Growth:
Big on Programs, New Spirituality in some parts,
de-emphasis on straight gospel message.
(The Mega Church movement)

Contemplative:
Mystical prayer and meditative practices.
Metaphysical middle age practices.
These people all share a common trait almost without exception. They deny
Sola Scriptura. And in some cases, (Emergent's) they completely deny
Scriptural authority, and inerrancy.
Dominionism, Hyper Charismatic's: Signs and wonders, alleged "Miracles"
Angelic Visitations, Out of Body Projection, Altered states

- what is a heretic?
- it is someone who holds views and beliefs that are in opposition to the popular beliefs, doctrines and opinions of the church.
- what message dose a heretic teach/preach?
- They teach a message for personal and financial gain only. They embrace religions, liberalism, emergent beliefs, and anything that helps them. They throw the scriptures out the door.
- how can I spot a heretic?
- You have to read their belief system completely. Read what they say on Biblical principles, social issues and what they are teaching.
- How do you confront a pastor or friend who you believe is teaching/preaching heresy?
- First, Prayer is the answer. Then, privately discuss the statements made and ask them their Biblical source. Then, calmly try to explain your position on their heresy.
- What is the best way to guard one's heart when being taught heresy? (outside of moving to a different church or turning off the T.V. or not reading their books)?
- If it becomes an emergent situation sometimes moving churches is the only option. (Non Luke Warm Churches). Always study the Bible, go back and look up for yourself what you have questioned.
The Bible has ALL the answers as the Divine Word of God.
