MOVIES ON Rapture Ready Radio!

 

I will say that this had lots of special effects in it that I thought were pretty good; and the action was ok. But that’s about it.

John Cusack character ends up taking his two kids camping in Yellowstone, where he encounters Woody Harrelson, a crazy radio broadcaster specializing in crackpot theories. Who is convinced that Earth is doomed, just as the Mayans foresaw, Woody Harrelson explains the whole reason as to why the earth is coming to an end. This is based off of the Mayan calendar –to which Dec 2012 is not predicting the end of the world so much rather that a start of a new era.

The movie depicts that the sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way for the first time in about 26,000 years. solar flares from the sun are acting like a giant microwave therefore destabilizing the earths crust; and where the world's governments are involved in history's biggest cover-up. Woody Harrelson goes on to talk about a secret map, which marks the spot for potential salvation for whoever might get saved as massive earthquakes, shifting of the earth's crust, flooding, and tsunamis end up killing off the majority of the earths population. 

As the earth is being destroyed by all of these disasters; you’ll see the destruction of historic symbols of Christianity, such as the statue of Christ overlooking Rio de Janeiro, Sistine Chapel, and the Saint Peter's Basilica.

There are a couple of spots the movie where it dose mocks those of the believing faith, poking fun at those who pray, or believe in the Rapture, not to mention; Foul language is heard through out the whole movie in both, the English and foreign language subtitles.

As a Christian let me say that there are a couple things that I disagreed with.

 

1)         The Date, Mayan calendar –to which Dec 12, 2012 is the end of the world.
From a Biblical prescriptive; No where in the Bible does it give us a precise
date as to when all things will come to an end.

 

I do find it interesting however, that these ships for saving mankind are in fact three different arks, which hold food, animals, important works of art and literature as well as selected individuals to repopulate the earth.

Outside of the elaborate special effect, I personal felt this was a terrible movie

However they actually did get one thing right in the movie. Towards the beginning of the film it shows a man with his cardboard sign that reads “Repent” the end is near.

I feel it’s safe to say that we are seeing the warning signs or indicators that Jesus himself talked about in Matthew 24:5-12 when he said…

For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ, and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.  All these are the beginning of birth pains. “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.  At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 

If you’re listening to the broadcast and you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus or you were a Christ follower at one time and have walked away from God, let me urge you to do what Peter said in Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.

And as the man in the movie sitting on the corner holding his sign says… “Repent” the end is near!
